Mission & Vision
“Are We There Yet?” is an alternative approach to storytelling. We treat each project as it’s own unique collaboration, prioritizing an alignment and understanding of the intended impact of the message over all else. Through this process we find the most visually compelling way to execute the idea with excellence through pre-to-post production. Our mode of collaboration and creative expertise elevates our work above other more cut-and-dry campaigns.
This is because we know that in order to inspire real action, we must also engage audiences.
We don’t only consider ourselves filmmakers- we are also cultural workers. It’s part of why we founded our company as a non-hierarchical cooperatively-owned business, why we volunteer in community organizations/events and why we invest in aspiring film-makers by providing mentorship and training when we can.
Brand Story / Origin

As five soon-to-be grads, we shared similar frustrations with the commercial film-making industry. We had spent years forming our own unique creative styles and were now prone to losing momentum on our growth. We had the feeling that between the five of us, and the way our skills and styles both complimented and differed from each other that it’d make for a great team.
We formed AWTY before graduating and officially formed the business, structuring it as a cooperatively-owned LLC. We quickly climbed the ladder, pitching an series interviewing artists native to NYC in local restaurants of their choosing, producing, and editing a successful, Film-Forum screened documentary about the NYCHA housing project in the Lower East Side named “Heat”, then obtaining retainer clients with multiple big name foundations and organizations such as The Mellon Foundation, Demand Justice, and Zohran’s mayoral campaign.
We continue growing our networks and finding new ways to collaborate and express ourselves. We’ve held each other to higher standards we thought were possible which has brought us to where we are today.
